Celebrating 20 Years of Building, Moving, and Growing

They say that in business, the only constant is change. But after 20 years of being in retail & wholesale, I’ve realized it’s more than change—it’s evolution.

This March marks two decades since I first started my small business. As we celebrate Women's History Month & International Women’s Day, I’ve been looking back at the map of this journey. It hasn't been a straight line; it’s been a series of bold moves, teardowns, and rebuilds.

It started in Atlanta, where the foundation was laid. Then came the move to San Francisco, where the vision matured. Eventually, the desert called, and we relocated the business to the heart of Palm Springs.

Since landing in the desert, the building hasn't stopped. We’ve expanded our Palm Springs footprint twice, and just last August, we opened the doors to A to Z Desert Mercantile—a space born from a desire to return to something rugged, storied, and tactile.

Every time I’ve packed a box or signed a new lease, I’ve been asked why. Why move? Why expand?

The answer is always the same: Because I believe a business should grow as its founder does. I’m spending this milestone week in Kyoto, where I'll be hand-curating a special "Anniversary Collection" of textiles and objects for both shops.

Twenty years ago, I was at my corporate job with an idea for something more. Today, I feel lucky to have created spaces that have been a small part of thousands of stories. Thank you for being part of the Atlanta years, the SF years, the PS years, and the many miles in between.

We aren't just selling objects; we are building a life well-lived. Here’s to the next twenty.

With love & gratitude,
Adrienne
